Penùmbra

Published by Dorsopress

Penùmbra outlines a visual journey to explore the profound bond that connects two individuals, reaching as far as the symbolism of birth.
Visual  | Photography  |  Editorial book

Through a visual narrative composed of aesthetic and evocative fragments, the author proposes to analyze the complexity of human relationships with the instincts that manifest themselves in the dynamics of real life.
Storytelling

The artist seeks to introduce into the project a plurality of concepts drawn from different cultures of belonging, seemingly opposite but which coincide in a unique, well-distinguishable version full of spaces where it is still possible to question oneself and therefore not associable with a philosophical or religious manifesto.

There is a scene in Cave of Forgotten Dreams, however, in which Herzog - observing the prehistoric drawings in Chauvet Cave and noting the desire to restore the movement of herds and animals - says: ‘this is where cinema begins’. Technique unveils the future in the past, fulfils the unexpressed possibilities before us.
There is no nostalgia, but something approaching a principle that I cannot express except in Benjamin’s words: ‘we have been waited for’ (and we will wait).
I am becoming more and more convinced that this is what we should ask of works of art; and I am not just
talking about cinema, but I am thinking above all of poetry.
